Designed to complement our existing phone-based services, the MDS web site offers a highly personalized and secure
24/7 environment to meet a variety of employees' needs. The site provides immediate access to high-quality information about a medical
diagnosis or health condition. Users will find information on:
- Researching a Condition or Diagnosis: MedlinePlus, Harvard A to Z, Pubmed, Medical dictionary link
- Supporting patients as they make decisions on surgery and chronic care treatment with interactive, web-based Emmi™ programs and learning modules
- Choosing a Physician: AHRQ Guides, WebMD Physician Directory
- Choosing a Hospital: WebMD Hospital Advisor, U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals," links to published annual ranking of hospitals across the country, National Cancer Institutes Cancer Centers Program
- Coping with a Condition: CaringBridge, CancerCare, Patients Like Me
Ongoing support is available to help employees navigate and use the tools on the web site. In addition, users can contact MDS directly for additional
assistance with any diagnosis or topic not found on the site. In turn, an MDS physician-led team can post customized electronic information
in a personal, secure area for employees to view and share with their doctors or family.
Comprehensive Information Kits:
CIKs are available on more than 40 common diagnoses and medical topics with evidence of variation in care, such as C-section, autism,
and LASIK surgery. Each CIK includes Questions to Ask Your Physician, an overview on the topic or diagnosis, a book or other materials,
and Internet Resources all developed, reviewed, and selected by our MDS physician-led research teams. CIKs can be
