Evidence-Based Research and Information

CMR’s primary goal is to ensure that the employees and their physicians are using the most current , evidence-based medicine and have an understanding of the risks and benefits of treatments (including lack of treatment) to aid them in making informed medical decisions. Our medical research and information services are gathered through systematic review of the medical literature and are critically appraised by our physician and research teams. To ensure that evidence-based informed decisions are made, we:
  • Identify the employee’s primary areas of concern or interest during the focused clinical intake process
  • Search credible sources, secondary databases, and the primary medical literature for relevant journal articles
  • Assess the validity and usefulness of those articles
  • Judge the relevancy of the information to the employee’s situation and aptitude for medical jargon
  • Compile all materials into a comprehensive report
  • Follow up with employees as they progress through their decision-making to determine not only if they need help navigating the information, but also if they require additional information as their health condition changes
