Medical Decision Support-Patient Information Coordinator


Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the selection of appropriate patient educational materials as part of a physician-led team
  • Develop customized sets of educational material based on patients needs
  • Provide telephonic and email communication/support to assigned patients
  • Monitor for changes in best evidence medicine, evaluate new research and information sources
  • Participate in development of new consumer medical educational materials

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • College degree in a Nursing/Health field (Nursing, Health Education, Public Health), Masters Degree preferred
  • Four to six years of experience in a health science, case/disease management and/or patient education environment
  • Experience communicating medical information to a non-medical audience
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs and utilization of internet/academic search engines (Pub MED, Microsoft Applications, etc.,)
  • Experience working with a variety of digital/internet media and interest in exploring new information technology
  • Experience in writing or evaluating medical literature, health education materials, and/or health related web content
  • Ability to evaluate appropriate educational materials based on projected audience (quality of material, reading level, motivational value, etc.)
  • Dedicated to providing high quality, professional customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, enjoy working independently and in a team environment
